Where to stay in Chandrashila:
There is no arrangement for a stay in Chandrashila or Tungnath. So you have to complete the trek in a day and come back to Chopta or Baniyakund or Sari village. You will have to set up your own camp in Baniyakund or book the entire trek through a trekking company.
Many hotels, lodges, campuses, etc. will be found staying in Chopta, Sari village. Along with this, you can also go back to Ukhimath where you will easily get the facility of the government rest houses, big hotels, and hostels.
If you ever plan to go on a trek, you can do a Deoban trek for trekking.
The surrounding view of Chandrashila peak:
When you reach the peak of Chandrashila after climbing so tired, then all your tiredness will go away in a few moments. Tungnath Temple is in the middle of the hill from where only one side view is visible but Chandrashila is on the top of the hill from where you get to see wonderful views from all sides.
The main thing that inspires me to do this trek is the views of the Himalayan peaks from here. From the peak of Chandrashila, you can see a wonderful view of the Himalayan mountains, which will give a different relief to your eyes. Also, the cool breeze blowing here and its rustle will give peace to the mind. However, due to the lack of flat land and low oxygen level, one cannot stay here for long.
Trek to Chandrashila in winter:
In winter, the trek from Chopta to Chandrashila is closed due to heavy snowfall, and the Tungnath temple is also closed during that time, but the trek from Deoria Tal to Chandrashila is open all the time. Although at this time the temperature here reaches around -10 degrees and 10-10 feet of snow freezes.
You can trek from Chopta to Chandrashila in the month of March and enjoy the snow. However, after Diwali till the month of February, one cannot go through this route.
