How to Draw Roll the Dice
Step 1:
We will first draw some cubes for this guide on how to draw dice. The dice are usually a little rounded around the edges to make them easier to roll so that we won’t use a lot of perfectly straight lines for this drawing.
Using the reference image as a guide, you can draw a rough square shape with slightly rounded edges and curves. Once you’ve drawn this outline, you can add three lines that form a sort of T, but they won’t quite touch. Instead, they will help make the dice look like they have corners.
Finally, draw six small circles on the die side facing you, then draw four dots on the left side, ending with one on top. You are now ready to draw the second die in the next step!
Step 2:
We’ll add the second to your dice drawing in the next step. This one will be behind the other two we’ve featured in this guide, so we’ll approach it differently this time. Start by drawing a vertical line from the left side of the first die and bend that line to the right at the top.
Next, draw three more lines to form a T-shape similar to step one, but most of it will be hidden by the other dice. Finally, draw two half circles on the right side of the die, two more partially obscured by the first die, then end with a dot at the top.
Step 3:
This third step of our guide on how to draw dice should be pretty easy! We will only draw the top edges of the other dice in the image. Extend a curved horizontal line from the vertical line you drew earlier for the first one. Then draw a similar one from the top right corner of the first die you rolled.
Step 4:
You will be able to complete the outline of the third die at this stage of drawing your die. To do this, extend a line down from the horizontal line you drew earlier. It will bend at the base and move inward until it hits the first die. Next, draw three more lines creating another one of these T-shapes, but again, make sure the lines don’t quite meet.
You can then finish by drawing a few dots on the left edge of the die. Technically, this side has five dots, but only four will be visible, the last one being obscured by the other dice. Then it’s time for the final details of step 5!
Step 5:
It’s almost time to add colors to your dice design, but first, we have a few final details. Most of the time, they will only draw a few extra dots on the dice, and you can start by drawing three on the top edge. Finally, you can finish by drawing four more on the remaining edge.
Then your dice drawing is complete! You can also enlarge this image by adding details and elements of your choice. A fun idea would be to draw a background to show what game these dice are used for. You can also draw a few different objects that can sit on a table with them. This is your chance to get creative, so have fun and see what happens!
Step 6:
This is the last stage of the dice roll, which can be the most fun of all stages! You can spice up this design with unique colors in this one. In our reference image, we chose a different color for each die. We chose yellow, blue, and pink for the colors, but these are just suggestions.
This step is where you can use any color you like to put your spin on these dice. You can make them as bright or dark as you want, so it’s up to you now! It’s also fun to decide which mediums and artistic tools you’ll use to make your color choices, so why not use all your favorites and experiment with new ones?

Make those awesome dice look even better with fun tricks you can try for your dice sketch! For this dice drawing, we show three dice on a surface. One way to make the design more interesting would be to make them look like they were just thrown away.
To do this, you can change the position of the dice and add lines around them to create the impression of movement. Otherwise, how can you think of changing the dice to look like they were rolled?
Continuing from our previous tip, you can also create the illusion that the dice are rolled by adding a hand that they just came out of. Drawing hands can be difficult, so you can use your hand or a family member’s to help you.
Imagine rolling the dice, freezing your hand in that position, and then doing your best to replicate that in the picture. Next, you might want to draw a background for this dice drawing. You might expect to see dice in plenty of places, so the odds are high.
You could draw a casino game to represent a high-risk game for an idea. Or they might even watch a magic show while someone performs a trick. These are just two examples, but you can get creative with the types of setups you describe. Where are the other places you might expect to see dice?
The die drawing we made offers a triad of classic dice. These look great, but dice can come in many variations. Changing a few details might make these dice even more unique. For example, you can change the material they are made of.
Some dice are wooden, while others may be clear plastic. You can easily create these types of materials with a few minor details and color changes. What different fabrics could you play in this picture?
