The ThinkPad X230 is powered by Intel’s latest Ivy Bridge CPU. The X230 also sports a more refined keyboard. In our multi-tasking tests, it achieved modest improvements over the X220, which had a second-gen 2.5-GHz Core i5-2520M processor. The performance improvements were even less noticeable when it came to single-task testing. While the improvements were modest, it’s still worth considering an upgrade if you’re a last-gen i5 owner.
